Hectic schedules, wedding drama, and big decisions have been clouding my mind recently. As we are starting to approach our final countdown to our wedding I can’t help but reminisce on our engagement day. Darren surprised me, with the help of some close friends and family, took me on a walk and asked me to marry him. I said “Yes!”, obviously!
I can’t wait to walk forever with you!
Here are some photos that our friend, Kim from Kimberly Chan Photography, took of us.
Check out more photos on Kim’s blog!
65 days & counting!!!
Can’t beat a midweek vacation in the desert with best friends.
Ace Hotel & Swim Club // Palm Springs, Ca
Meet Katie from Katie Schoepflin Photography! She is a dear friend of mine and a wonderful photographer!
Meet Charlie Mai from C. Mai Photography. Oh, Charlie. You really can’t forget a guy like this! His positive personality is simply contagious! I met Charlie last year at Jasmine Star’s workshop!
I can never pass up an opportunity to hang out with some of the most talented photographers in southern california. Jasmine Star provided us this opportunity to meet, build support, and be inspired. LA’s theFix event took place in a small theatre in the heart of LA. Jasmine’s energy and enthusiasm for the field completely filled the theatre. Her words of encouragement, tough love, and genuine spirit is so contagious! Thank you, Jasmine for being an amazing mentor and lover of life.
Yes, this is me being a total tourist at theFix event. But I’m happy to say I finally have a copy of Jasmine Star’s EXPOSED Magazine with a personal signed note in the back Thanks, Jasmine!
I can’t explain how happy my heart is to finally watch Matt & Gwen get married. I’ve never met two people who fit like puzzle pieces, complementary in every way. Gwen has been one of my best friends since under graduate days. I’ve seen her through the good and the bad, Matt definitely contributed to the good times. I feel so privileged to have wonderful people in my life and to have witnessed one of the best days of their lives.
Here are a couple of images I shot as a bridesmaid. Joel Llacar was the official photographer and documented this wedding beautifully, check him out!
photo below // I guess Becky’s not a fan of the bouquet toss.
photo below // and apparently Darren is a super fan of the garter toss. Look at the athletic pose!

If you follow me on Instagram (username: Yvettita) some of these images might look familiar to you. Instead of packing my trusty Canon Mark II with the 50mm 1.2 attached (favorite combo, btw) I decided to bring along my very first dslr, Canon Rebel Xti. Yup, bought this puppy on black friday 4 years ago, the O.G. of my collection but I haven’t forgotten about it. These images were shot with a 50mm 1.8. Although it was a challenge, it was fun pushing its limits to the max!
Packed for a short weekend in the valley of Fresno to visit my brother.
Teazers. Great name for a great tea place in Fresno!
My brother conducted his marching band through the town’s parade. So proud of him!
A fun, relaxing & refreshing get-away! Happy Monday!
I am so happy to finally have permission to sleep in on a Monday (yes, be jealous!) because I’m done with school!! Just the thought of no school this week made the weekend even more delightful. It felt good to finally have a weekend with no paper obligations or school stressors. I am happy to say that this week will be jam packed with graduation planning, family arriving and of course back to BLOGGING!!! yay!! Are you as excited as I am??
Anyways, enough about me! I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend!
Here are some photos from our MFT Pool Party!
Here’s another video! You can tell I’m happy and have time when I make a video! Enjoy!
As I sat in my dorm room, ramen in hand, finding relaxation in the clouds of photo blogging, I dreamt to one day blog beautiful images. Among those blogs, there was one that I couldn’t stay away from. Not only because she blogged gorgeous wedding photos, but because she inspired me in a way I couldn’t describe at the moment. Never did I imagine that I would be sitting in the same room as Jasmine Star, conversing about photography and meeting her warm & generous family (I’m sad to say I didn’t get to meet Polo). So, even though the workshop was several weeks ago, I am still in awe and inspired by my new friends, the opportunity to grow as a photographer and of course, Jasmine’s amazing advice and guidance. I walked away from this workshop with a smile on my face, 20 new photographer friends, & plenty of hugs from Jasmine’s incredible mom, Milly!
Here are a few images from the workshop!
-Started with some classroom time with Jasmine Star
-She really knows how to whip us into shape!
-Jasmine’s “What the?!” face every time the clouds moved! Haha!
-Don’t worry, she’s not mad. Sergeant Star is just making sure we have our 3 WORDS!
Look at this beautiful couple! It’s Beckham meets Carrie Underwood! (Stacy and Joe are also wedding photographers!)
Being silly with J*
She probably thinks I’m baghetto!
Felt especially connect with Kim (photo below), she’s from the BAY, HOLLA!
Darren wants to be JD when he grows up. He hasn’t washed his shoulder since this picture was taken!
Ended the workshop with Dinner and a Q&A session. As we sat and chatted about the day and photography nonsense, I felt blessed to have such wonderful opportunities come my way. Oh, now I feel better about stalking Jasmine’s blog. We’re cool now, she know’s who I am
