Everytime I think of Kris and Ryan I can’t help but smile. When they contacted me about photographing their wedding I never thought it was blossom into a friendship. They both have beautiful, warm, and inviting personalities. Can’t help but love and be loved by these people.
Their gorgeous wedding day was full of smiles, sunshine and TONS of DIY projects. The couple had plenty of small details that they put together themselves! Enjoy the photos of their beautiful and memorable day together.
Kristin contracted her brother, K.C. to design the programs and other small details of her wedding. He is a wonderful graphic designer, I’m a huge fan of his work!
Kristin’s wedding dress was hand-made by a local seamstress.
Kristin & Ryan purchased an old typewriter from a local thrift shop to add a vintage touch to their wedding details.
The bride & groom actually hand picked these chicken feather from the ground of a local farm! Talk about dedication for details!
Kristin wore her mom’s old watch down the aisle.
The First Look is always such an emotion part of the day.
This group shot was taken in a matter of seconds due to the traffic on the road. I’m pretty sure the bridal party has experience in modeling with how quickly they managed to run then pose.
The bride & groom worked for months in gathering vintage and rustic details to perfect their vision. After rolls of burlap, chicken feather picking, white paint, and mason jar collecting, it worked seamlessly!
The foot washing added a personal and spiritual touch to their ceremony.
If the wedding wasn’t perfect enough, Ryan composed and sang a song to his beautiful bride during the reception.
Lastly, the couple used bird seeds for their send-off! How genius is that? No clean-up needed!
I can’t explain how happy my heart is to finally watch Matt & Gwen get married. I’ve never met two people who fit like puzzle pieces, complementary in every way. Gwen has been one of my best friends since under graduate days. I’ve seen her through the good and the bad, Matt definitely contributed to the good times. I feel so privileged to have wonderful people in my life and to have witnessed one of the best days of their lives.
Here are a couple of images I shot as a bridesmaid. Joel Llacar was the official photographer and documented this wedding beautifully, check him out!

Karis is one lucky gal. She spent time parading around in mommy’s tummy as we spread out a blanket and had a picnic of Katie’s favorite maternity cravings. What better way to enjoy a friday afternoon? It was a cool November day but Charlie and Katie had no problem nuzzling noses and keeping warm. They will be expecting their baby girl, Karis in just a couple weeks! I’m looking forward to meeting the little sweet pea (& photographing her, of course!). Congrats to Katie & Charlie! We wish you the best as you welcome Karis and enter parenthood!
Just a quick question….Are you following me on Facebook?! Make it FBO (Facebook Official, duh!) and add me!
I couldn’t be happier its November! This means the holidays are just around the corner! Thanksgiving, Christmas, then New Years!! Three favorite holidays in a row! I’m pretty sure that deserves a cheesy internet “woot”!!
Last christmas season I had the pleasure of shooting two of my good friends, Katie & Charlie ( + their dog, Booth!) for their holiday greeting cards. We had tons of fun & the lovely ladies from Pleats & Thank You did a fabulous job styling the shoot!
Katie is also a photographer! Couldn’t help but shoot a couple photos of her and her camera.
Here is some moving footage of their holiday portrait session:

If you follow me on Instagram (username: Yvettita) some of these images might look familiar to you. Instead of packing my trusty Canon Mark II with the 50mm 1.2 attached (favorite combo, btw) I decided to bring along my very first dslr, Canon Rebel Xti. Yup, bought this puppy on black friday 4 years ago, the O.G. of my collection but I haven’t forgotten about it. These images were shot with a 50mm 1.8. Although it was a challenge, it was fun pushing its limits to the max!
Packed for a short weekend in the valley of Fresno to visit my brother.
Teazers. Great name for a great tea place in Fresno!
My brother conducted his marching band through the town’s parade. So proud of him!
A fun, relaxing & refreshing get-away! Happy Monday!
Have you ever been with a group of people who’s personalities flow so smoothly and they just feed off each other? This is why working with families, especially siblings is so enjoyable for me! Elizabeth contacted me for an Anytime session with her brothers, her plan was to gift these photos to their mom for her birthday. How sweet! Liz and her brothers are all in college, the youngest is a freshman while the oldest is finishing his Masters. On top of that, they all attend different universities near and far. Coming together for this session allowed them to have some hang out and catch up time. They were so fun to be with, even if I didn’t understand all of their inside jokes!
I’ve been so busy with school finishing for the year and starting my summer job, but I just wanted to email you one last time to say thank you for the photos you took of me and my brothers. They were really gorgeous and my brothers were as excited as I was to see them. As soon as you put them on the photo sharing site I ordered several prints to show and surprise my parents with when they came out last week. I presented them to my mom at dinner along with my brothers and she burst into tears and cried for close to 5 minutes. She and my dad thought they were fantastic and kept mentioning what a great photographer I had found. My mom went on all weekend about how it was such a thoughtful gift from us and it had made her so happy. She couldn’t wait to show the photos to all of our relatives, and she is intending to get more prints to display in my dad’s dental office and at home. So anyway, thanks so much for helping me make my mom so incredibly happy! They are beautiful photos and I have no idea how I’ll top them for later gifts to my parents. THANKS!!!!
Nancy and Sam, a phenomenal violinist and gorgeous oboe player brought together through their passion for music. Besides their long list of talents, Nancy and Sam are two of the most humbled people I have ever met. As we began conversing over the details of their wedding, I realized that I was talking with two madly in love people! I remember tears settling into Sam’s eyes as we discussed the First Look, “…it just got real” he said. And with that I was sold! Not only am I honored to have worked with such creative and passionate souls, I am uplifted by how simple, revenant and honest their love is for each other.
“Watch our love grow!” How cute is that?! Wildflower Seeds as the favors.
After the cake cutting, Darren and I stole the couple away for a spontaneous portrait session in their first new home together. Nancy and Sam were totally down to ditch! Thanks to the lovely couple for being flexible and letting us get creative.

Seems like all my friends are getting hitched. Gina & Stephan got married on a breezy afternoon on their high school campus in Monterey Bay. Long before Stephan, Gina was playing friendship match maker and connected some of who I consider my best friends today, Becky, Gina & Gwen. Somehow Gina convinced us to live together and the rest was history! For realz! Like sista from another mister! (and you know I only talk ghetto when I’m serious!). This weekend Gwen is getting married (*tear!) and can’t help to think how much we’ve grown since undergrad. These girls never fail to make me laugh and warm my heart. I’m so proud of them and what they have achieved. Love them to death!
the best part of going back to school is the Back-to-School shopping, like duh! I love the feel of new pens, crisp lined paper and the latest hot kicks that light up! This year, Rifle Paper Co. will be joining me as I embark on yet another year of school. Just more one though. I promise.
Hope you all had a great weekend! I wish you all the best as you began new adventures and build new memories whether at work, school or home (lucky!!).
